Banks Among “Worst Companies in America”

What would you say is the worst company in America? It depends who you’ve dealt with and what they did for (or to) you.

The Consumerist runs a poll each year to let readers highlight the businesses they hate most. The contest is modeled after basketball’s March Madness and is currently in the Elite Eight (Update: looks like Bank of America made it to the final four today).

Banks and other financial institutions are a regular favorite. As Erin O’Neil notes, the four largest banks were entered into the tournament, with Chase and Bank of America still in the running. It goes to show that banks are an important part of our everyday lives, and we really notice (and remember) when things go bad.
