How to Set a BlackBerry Password
Odds are that someday you’ll misplace your BlackBerry. And when you do, you’ll heave a sigh of relief knowing that your data is password protected.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 Minutes
Here’s How:
1.From your Home Screen, click on the “Options” icon.
2.Scroll down to “Password” (Note: On some older models, you may need to go to “Security Options” and then “Advanced Security Options” to find this selection).
3.Set Password to “Enabled.”
4.You will be prompted to enter a password for your device.
5.Set the Number of Password Attempts that your BlackBerry will allow.
6.Set the Security Timeout to determine how long your BlackBerry can sit idle before the screen locks.
Tips:
1.If you’re using a device like a Pearl that has a multi-tap keyboard, try to come up with a password that only requires one tap on each key.
2.If you exceed the number of password attempts that you’ve set, your BlackBerry will automatically wipe. This means that you will be back at the factory defaults.
